🌍 New Feature: Multilingual Notification Emails
We're excited to announce that Basin now supports 15 languages for notification emails! Send form submission alerts to your team in the language that works best for them.
What's New
Notification Emails in 15 Languages
Your notification emails can now be sent in any of these languages:
- English - Default
- Deutsch (German)
- Español (Spanish)
- Français (French)
- Italiano (Italian)
- Português (Portuguese)
- Nederlands (Dutch)
- Svenska (Swedish)
- Norsk (Norwegian)
- Dansk (Danish)
- Suomi (Finnish)
- 日本語 (Japanese)
- 한국어 (Korean)
- 中文 (Chinese Simplified)
- 繁體中文 (Chinese Traditional)
What Gets Translated
When you select a language, Basin automatically translates all the standard notification email elements:
- Greeting - "Hello there!" becomes "¡Hola!" (Spanish), "Bonjour !" (French), "こんにちは" (Japanese), etc.
- Submission message - "You just received a new submission" in your chosen language
- Section labels - Detected URL Data, Lead Agent, Location Info, and more
- Button text - "View in your dashboard"
- Timestamps - Date/time labels
Important: Your actual form data (field names and values submitted by users) always appears exactly as submitted. Only the Basin interface text is translated.

How to Use It
Setting up multilingual notifications is simple:
- Navigate to Forms → Your Form → Emails
- Open the Notification tab
- Scroll to the Language setting
- Select your preferred language from the dropdown
- Save your changes
That's it! All future notification emails for that form will be sent in your selected language.
Technical Details
Each language translation has been carefully localized by native speakers to ensure natural, professional communication. The language setting is per-form, so you can have different languages for different forms if needed.
If you're using custom email templates, you'll maintain full control - the language setting only affects Basin's default notification template. For custom templates, you can add your own translations using the same merge tags and Handlebars syntax you're already familiar with.
Availability
The multilingual notification email feature is available on the Standard plan and above. Free and Basic plan users can upgrade to access this feature along with other advanced email customization options.
