We’ve been hard at work implementing all of your feedback and feature requests and are excited to announce the biggest update to our platform yet. Welcome to Basin 2.0!

Prior to diving in to see what’s new, we want to thank each and every one of our customers for trusting Basin to power their forms and businesses. As a small team, your support and input along the way is what keeps us focused on building the best, most flexible and developer-friendly form backend service we can. So from us to you, thanks!

Now let’s get into the update...

We’ve completely revamped the Basin dashboard to be more intuitive, flexible and easy to use. The new submissions view enhances usability by using a table format and includes support for bulk actions, pagination, form analytics and export functions all in one place.

When logged in, this is where you’ll likely spend the bulk of your time so it was important for us to keep things simple while maximizing utility.

The original design forced you to use unkempt naming conventions to keep your forms organized. Now you can group your form endpoints into projects — making access to forms and related settings much more efficient.

You can also create and manage custom email templates for your project forms and give collaborators access to view and manage project form submissions and related settings.

We admit that the first iteration of this feature left a lot to be desired.  It worked, sort of, but the coding experience was pretty lacklustre compared to the tools developers use daily. In 2.0, the new IDE gives you a much more familiar space to build out your email templates and lets you preview your work as you go.

You can refactor our default template or start from scratch. Build unique email templates for each form in your project or use one for all — it’s up to you.

This past year we partnered with Postmark to ensure that you never lose a submission. Piggybacking off of their global, fast, and secure infrastructure, we’ve improved our own data processing performance and beefed up security protocols to boot. Basin is now faster, more secure, and more reliable than ever.

We’ve built Basin on the feedback and input of the people who use it, and appreciate all of the ideas and suggestions we’ve received in an effort to make form backend setup and management easier for everyone. If you have a feature request or want to report a bug, you can submit a support ticket in app. It’s a little thing, but it’s the little things that make the difference.
